LED OUTDOOR LIGHTING DELIVERS THE LONG LIFE AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY WE ALL WANT, BUT MANY OF YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT LED LIGHTING FOR YOUR CHARLOTTE AREA HOME. OUTDOOR LIGHTING PERSPECTIVES OF CHARLOTTE HAS THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS!

There is no doubt that outdoor lighting has become an essential part of our lives. We showcase our Charlotte area homes and businesses with façade and landscape lighting and illuminate outdoor living spaces with custom lighting designs for aesthetics and safety. Perhaps your home does not yet have professional outdoor lighting, or has an aging lighting system in need of upgrades, and you are wondering if LED is really right for you. Here are four very common questions we hear at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives.

LED Outdoor Lighting

1. Will the color of the LED outdoor lighting meet my expectations?

When we were first introduced to LED outdoor lighting, the color choices were sterile white or cool blue. Though those cool color temperatures appeal to some, they were largely unacceptable. Over the last few years, LED innovations have produced new, warmer color temperatures, like those we are used to seeing with incandescent lighting. As a matter of fact, quality LED lighting is now an exact match to classic incandescent lighting and is available in a variety of color temperatures to meet your needs.

2. What are my options for brightness and coverage?

Quality LED outdoor lighting fixtures to offer flexibility in brightness levels and beam spread. Your Outdoor Lighting Perspectives design consultant will create a lighting plan specific to your needs without compromising design principles.

3. How long will my LED outdoor lighting elements last?

Quality LED outdoor components, which are properly installed and well-maintained, should last 40,000 to 50,000 hours. If your lighting system is on for an average of eight hours per day, it should take 14 years for your LED bulbs to dim to 70%, at which time they should be replaced.

4. Will a fixture with LED melt through ice or snow?

Even though the lamp’s lens stays cool, quality LED usually dissipates enough heat into the lighting fixture body to produce a temperature high enough to melt snow and ice. Warm lighting fixtures are actually a good thing, as it means heat is being pulled away from critical lighting components, avoiding damage to those components.
